Taos, New Mexico

The county seat of Taos County, New Mexico, the city is located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in north-central region of New Mexico. It takes its name from the Taos Pueblo which is located just a few miles to the north of the city. The pueblo was built from about 1000 and 1450 A.D. and the town of taos was established by Spanish colonists in about 1615.
