The Basin Spring bathhouse in Eureka Springs, an Arkansas Ozark Mountains city, a visit to which is a step back in time to the Victorian era at the turn of the 19th into 20th centuries, when springs and spa treatments were considered therapeutic. Because Eureka Springs is wedged between rocky cliffs and is far from any big city, it has retained and refreshed dozens of properties that would likely have fallen victim to modernization or the wrecker’s ball in other locations.
