Fort Smith, AR - Fort Smith National Historic Site
Established along the Arkansas River in 1817 at Belle Point, the Butterfield Stage stopped here on the way to San Francisco. Famous "Hanging Judge" Isaac Parker held court here for about 20 years and the famous hanging gallows can be toured today. Photo by David Fisk
