Moriarty, NM - El Comedor Rotosphere

The neon rotosphere stands in front of what is now called the Breezy Rain Cafe, but is more known as the old El Comedor Restaurant. Dating back to 1953, the famed eatery is well known in New Mexico as a political launching pad, with visitors including several governors and even Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. The sign was installed in the 1960's and is the only one of its kind on Route 66. It was restored thanks to the Route 66 neon grant program in New Mexico.
