Clay Center, KS - City Hall

In 1936, the original city building in Clay Center, Kansas, was demolished to make way for a large new city hall and auditorium. It was dedicated on May 25, 1937. The building was built with profits from the city's municipal power plant. It remains the City Hall today and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Clay Center Downtown Historic District in October 2020. Photo by Kathy Alexander.
