Arkansas City, KS - Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum
Rural cabins, a Native American totem pole, and a settlers' windmill at the Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum in Arkansas City, a small Kansas town near the Oklahoma border. The museum displays exhibits related to the history of Arkansas City, the surrounding portions of Kansas and Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma Land Rush of September 16, 1893 in which white settlers raced to find free land in what was then "Indian Territory" and later became the State of Oklahoma.
