I'm almost finished writing a screenplay based on this subject. The title is "Bum Blockade." At the border with Arizona (US 66) there is an LAPD roadblock, and so it goes. I will be a mentor to writers for the John Steinbeck museum in Salinas, CA. I was Post Production Supervisor on the Emmy-nominated TV series "East of Eden."
