Northwest New Mexico
Known to its residents as Indian Country, Northwest New Mexico region is home to Diné and Puebloan peoples whose rich cultural traditions include food and dance rituals. The area provides a number of historic, natural and cultural attractions including the Aztec Ruins National Monument, Chaco Culture National Historical Park, El Malpais National Monument, Four Corners, the Navajo Nation and much more.
Route 66 also runs through the region with numerous iconic photo opportunities and stops. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the Cibola National Forest, the Bisti Badlands which is filled with hoodoos and some of strangest and most wonderful rock formations in the American Southwest, and many other natural scenes.
