Atlanta, GA - Fox Theatre Interior

The 4,665-seat auditorium of the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Often marketed as the Fabulous Fox, the theater was planned as part of a large Shrine Temple as evidenced by its Moorish design. It is now a performing arts venue and the centerpiece of the Fox Theatre Historic District. The theater began as a lavish movie venue in the Fox Theatre chain and opened in 1929. Contrary to much popular belief, "Gone With the Wind," the movie most associated with Atlanta and the South, premiered at the now-demolished Loew's Grand Theatre rather than the Fox.
