The Varsity, often called the Varsity Grill, a local drive-in restaurant that became somewhat of a "must-see" institution in Atlanta, the capital city of the southern U.S. state of Georgia and the state's largest city. There are now six (2017) other branches across metropolitan Atlanta, and others across Georgia. Originally named “The Yellow Jacket”, The Varsity was established in 1928. It is said that this main location is responsible for more retail sales of Coca-Cola, on an annual basis, than any other single location in the world. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2017.
