Aerial photograph of Alanta, Georgia, taken in October 2017, with a focus on Turner Field (foreground), long the home stadium of the Altanta Braves major-league baseball team. The team moved to a new field, SunTrust Park in Cobb County, northeast of downtown, which opened for the 2017 season. Originally built as Centennial Olympic Stadium in 1996 to serve as the centerpiece of the 1996 Summer Olympics, the stadium was converted into a baseball park (and renamed Turner Field) in 1966. When the Braves left in 2017, the stadium was reconverted again, this time for football as Georgia State Field, home of the Georgia State University Panthers. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2017.
