Kolb Studio, which operated operated from 1904 until 1976 as the photographic studio of brothers Ellsworth and Emery Kolb at the south rim of what is now Grand Canyon National Park, which protects a steep-sided and winding gorge carved by the Colorado River across northern in Arizona. Soon after the studio opened, the Santa Fe Railway opened a competing photography studio called the Lookout Studio, a stone’s throw from the Kolb operation. The Kolb Studio is now owned by the National Park Service.
