Fort Wayne, IN - Embassy Theatre

Marquee of the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Embassy -- formerly the Emboyd Theatre -- was built in 1928 as a movie palace and vaudeville house. The Emboyd came complete with the seven-story, 250-room Indiana Hotel wrapped around its north and west sides. Theater operator Clyde Quimby commissioned A.M. Strauss and John Eberson to design both the Emboyd and the hotel. Over time the former morphed into a performing-arts theater and the home of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra.
