East Chop Lighthouse, a historic lighthouse standing on a bluff overlooking Vineyard Haven Harbor and Vineyard Sound in the town of Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard Island, a popular summering destination in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Massachusetts Cape Cod. One of five lighthouses on the island, it was built in 1878 on Telegraph Hill, so named because a semaphore station preceded the lighthouse there. Photo by Carol Highsmith.
