View of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, often called the Portsmouth Navy Yard, a United States Navy shipyard located in Kittery on the southern boundary of Maine across from the city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The facility is tasked with the overhaul, repair, and modernization of U.S. Navy submarines. It is sometimes confused with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia.
