The New Carrollton Federal Office building was the largest single government construction project in the Baltimore/Washington Corridor in 1994. It is home to 4,400 federal employees. It was built for $179 million and is 1.2 million square feet. During 2012-2016, energy conservation measures were performed, saving 60% of the building's energy costs.
