The First United Methodist Church (originally First Methodist Church), which opened in 1890 in Wyoming's capital, Cheyenne. It replaced a little white church that, to facilitate construction of the new building, was dragged into the middle of the street, where services were held while the new, showcase church was completed. Thereupon, the building where gunfighter Wild Bill Hickok had married Agnes Thatcher Lake, a 50-year-old circus proprietor in 1876, was dragged to the vicinity of the Union Pacific Depot, where it served as a hay barn before disappearing from historical records.
