Augusta, WI - Dells Mill Storage Building

Old log storage building at Dells Mill, a gristmill built on Bridge Creek in 1864 that operated until 1968 in the Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, town of Augusta. Water-powered gristmills ground the wheat that dominated Wisconsin's Civil War-era economy. After wheat production moved westward, owners adapted the building to mill flour and grind feed. After the death of proprietor Gus Clark, who died in 2014 after presiding over the mill for 45 years (and turning it into a "living history" museum"), the operation was sold to area Amish people, who continued the museum and began repairs in hopes of returning the mill to operation.
