Bozeman, MT - Museum of the Rockies

A dinosaur skeleton outside the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, a city in Southwest Montana named after John Bozeman, who founded the town in 1864 and established what became known as the Bozeman Trail linking the gold camps in the area with the Oregon Trail in nearby Wyoming. The museum, a repository for state and federal fossils, is a division of Montana State University and an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2022.
