Whitman Nebraska was established in the 1880's as a railroad town. Unincorporated today, the town once flourished after the passage of the Kincaid Act of 1904, which gave citizens the right to file claims on 640 acres of land. It was also a busy cattle shipping center, however the railroad moved and the town has since diminished. Photo by Kathy Alexander.
