A clock tower with a remarkable story in Concord, New Hampshire. Standing atop the Board of Trade Building across the street since 1872, it was a local landmark. But in 1950 when the building's top two floors were removed during a renovation, the tower and its components were lost. But n 1984 architect Duncan McGowan began searching out components and putting them back together. The tower bell was found in a flea market in Michigan. And after a successful fundraising effort led by Dr. Horace Blood, the tower was reconstituted and put back in service -- at street level. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2017.
