Two University of New Hampshire research ships -- the R/V Gulf Surveyor, left, and the R/V (or research vessel) Gulf Challenger, await their next expedition at the The Judd Gregg Marine Science Complex -- 15 miles from the Durham campus -- at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbor in New Castle, New Hampshire. The complex includes the Coastal Marine Laboratory, the UNH Marine Research Pier and the Pier Support Facility.
