Tall buildings stand behind a corner of
New York City's famed Pennylvania Station (known locally as Penn Station). Completed in 1910 and named for the old Pennsylvania Railroad, the megalopolis's main intercity railroad station serves more than 650,000 commuter rail and Amtrak passengers a day. It is (as of 2018) the busiest passenger transportation hub in the Western Hemisphere. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2018.
