The Old Mill of Guilford, also known as Bailes' Old Mill, is a historic and still-working grist mill near Oak Ridge in Guilford County, North Carolina. It was built in 1822 -- across the creek from an earlier mill that predated the American revolution -- as a plain three-story, heavy timber frame building on a fieldstone foundation. It has a gable roof and one-story, shed roofed addition built of fieldstone. Clarence Bailes bought the mill in 1954 and made several modifications. Photo by Carol Highsmith.
