The jailhouse behind the 1882 firehouse in the town of Ridgway, which calls itself the "Gateway to the San Juans" (range in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado). Remote Ridgway declined alarmingly in the 1980s after plans were afoot to flood the little town to make a reservoir; several building owners abandoned their buildings or allowed them to deteriorate. When the reservoir plans evaporated, the town began a period of slow growth and gentrification.
