Lake Granby, adjacent to the town of the same name near the southwestern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The lake was created by the erection of Granby Dam, completed in 1950, as part of the Colorado-Big Thompson water-diversion project. Lake Granby and its approximately 40 miles of shoreline are popular with fishers; it is regularly stocked with trout and kokanee salmon. Photo by Carol Highsmith.
