An outsized "welcome" sign introduces visitors to the American Sign Museum in the industrial Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. The giant fair-haired fellow is a form of highway advertising figures often called "Muffler Men," because muffler shops across America often used such characters to attract customers during the early years of cross-county highway travel.
