Sign at the Tulsa Oilers’ minor-league ONEOK baseball stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The field, which opened in 2010, was located, by design, in the historic Greenwood neigborhood of the city. Historic for tragic reasons, since the Greenwood was the location of what’s been called the Tulsa Race Riots of 1921, when a white mob attacked burned the relatively prosperous Greenwood, then known as the Black Wall Street, and an estimated 300 Black residents died.
