Visually, the Williams Center Tower in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the unusual sculpture behind it, are the the story of this image. But locally, it’s the footbridge leading to the scene. On it is a small concrete circle urrounded by bricks. Locals call it the “Center of the Universe. Stand on and speak or make a sound (loudly or softly), and the sound is mysteriously magnified manyfold. The acoustic phenomenon has not been definitively explained. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2020.
