The Mother Road Market in Tulsa, Oklahoma, one of many vintage and new landmarks and attractions on historic U.S. Route 66, the first intestate paved highway, parts of which still wind through Tulsa. The “Mother Road” was the fond nickname for the highway, which connected the Midwest and West from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. Many quirky remnants of the much-traveled (and loved) road as nostalgic reminders of the glory days of auto travel.
