Tulsa, OK - 1909

In 1846, Lewis Perryman, who was part Creek Indian, built a log cabin trading post near what is now 33rd Street and South Rockford Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Perryman’s business was quite successful in the rugged frontier until the Civil War, when many residents fled the area. Photo by Clarence Jack, 1909.
