Portland, Oregon's, historic Union Station, a train depot (and eventually multi-modal transportation hub) in Portland, Oregon. The signature feature of the 1896 terminal, designed by the renowned New York architecture firm of McKim, Mead, and White, is its 150-foot-tall Romanesque Revival-style clock tower. Its neon signs were added in 1948. Photo by Carol Highsmith.
