Dawson, NM - Cemetery - 3

Once a booming mining town of 9,000, most of what remains in Dawson, New Mexico are memories of tragedy, after a mining explosion on October 22, 1913, killed over 250 men. Today the cemetery bears witness with the white iron crosses from burials that continued for weeks. Photo by Kathy Weiser-Alexander.
