The Hot Springs National Park Visitor Center in Hot Springs, a city in central Arkansas’ Ouachita Mountains. Originally a mining town surrounded by quarries of novaculite, a flintlike mineral used in making tools, and later a popular spa destination famous for therapeutic treatments for tuberculosis and other ailments or the healthful effects of the area’s steaming springs, Hot Springs grew into a tourist mecca.
