This building in Tulsa, Oklahoma got its start as the Golden Drumstick that opened in 1948. Newspaper accounts reported overflow crowds for months after it opened. For many years Sunday church crowds would wait in long lines out the front door for a tasty chicken dinner. The restaurant closed 1975. The next year, it reopened as the Middle Path Cafe. Mary and Steve Housel introduced Tulsans to a menu of sugarless desserts and dishes with no red meats. It was one of the first "natural food" restaurants of it's kind.
