Sky View Drive-in Theater in east
Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. Gone today, the drive-in theater was located at 2788 N. Coltrane Road. It opened on
June 12, 1948 featuring the movie “I Love Trouble” with Franchot Tone. It was owned and operated by the Caporal family, who also owned the Mayflower Theatre and the Rivera Drive-In.
After entertaining movie goers for 35 years, it closed in 1983. Its remains were soon taken over by Mother Nature, and was demolished in about 1994. Today, the site, situated at the corner of northeast 23rd and Coltrane near Forest Park, is occupied by a church. Photo by John Margolies, 1993.
