The Bonfire Shelter near Langtry, Texas was the scene of a series of prehistoric buffalo "jumps." Long before Native Americans obtained horses, they stampeded herds of bison of the edge of this cliff, which overhung a shelter of a box canyon that empties into the Rio Grande.
