Replicated frontier cabin at the Fort Griffin townsite, which the townspeople and cattle ranchers who lived there called "The Flat," near the U.S. Army's frontier post of Fort Griffin that protected it in the 1860s in what is now Shackelford County, Texas. The town was an important watering and supply point along the so-called "Western Cattle Trail" up to Dodge City, Kansas. The townsite is now the property of ranchers Cliff and Lynne Teinert.
