One of two fabricated Moai, or Easter Island statues that were added to "Stonehenge II" in the Texas Hill Country. The bulk of the installation is a steel-and-concrete replica, two-thirds the size of the original Stonehenge monument in England. The project was conceived by Al Shepperd and built with the help of his friend and neighbor, Doug Hill. Originally located near of Hunt, Texas, Stonehenge II now resides on the campus of the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram, Texas. Photo by Carol Highsmith.
