The manor house at Berkeley Plantation, one of the first plantations in America, on the banks of the James River in Charles City County, Virginia. Settled in 1619, this historic estate is the birthplace of Benjamin Harrison V, a signer of the American Declaration of Indepenence, and his son William Henry, who later became president of the United States. So did another Benjamin Harrison: Willliam Henry’s grandson, and therefore Benjamin V’s great grandson.
