A landlocked and decidedly nonfunctioning lighthouse in Virginia Beach, one of the Virginia communities in what’s called the “Tidewater” area along the Chesapeake Bay and, in the case of Virginia Beach, the Atlantic Ocean. This structure is a version of the actual “new” (1881) Cape Henry Lighthouse (there’s an even older one nearby), a few miles up the beach. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2019.
