Williamsburg, VA - Brickyard

Scene at Colonial Williamsburg’s brickyard at Colonial Williamsburg, the world's largest living-history museum, in Williamsburg, Virginia, once the capital of Britain’s Virginia Colony. Once a year, the site’s interpreters – who are not actors but practicing experts and apprentices – build and fire a giant kiln, holding an astonishing 20,000 bricks or more. The re-created colonial city dates to the 1920s, when John D. Rockefeller Jr.; his wife, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller; and others began obtaining property for the 173-acre attraction.
