The Community Center -- originally a hay barn and silos -- at Goddard College's Greatwood Campus in Plainfield, Vermont. With predecessor institutions dating to 1863, Goddard was founded in 1938 as an experimental and non-traditional educational institution based on the ideas of John Dewey. Each student designs his or her own curriculum. The private liberal arts college also has campuses in Port Townsend and Seattle, Washington. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2017.
