Clarina Irene Howard Nichols was an associate editor of an abolitionist newspaper in Quindaro, Kansas. She was involved in the temperance, abolition, and suffrage movements in the 19th century. A friend of Susan B. Anthony and a fellow crusader for the rights of women and children, she was also an important Conductor and Station Master of the Underground Railroad.
