Guntersville is a city in Marshall County,
Alabama, United States and is included in the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. At the 2000 census, the population of the city was 7,395. Guntersville was founded by German immigrant John Gunter (the great-grandfather of American humorist Will Rogers). Guntersville is located at the southernmost point of the Tennessee River on Lake Guntersville, formed by the Guntersville Dam. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2010.
