Fall decorations on a street in Gatlinburg, a small city in southeast Tennessee known as the gateway to the adjacent Smoky Mountains National Park. Both are clearly visible from a 407-foot Space Needle tower, a cable-car route, and the Ober Gatlinburg ski resort in town. Though lacking the spectacular attractions of neighboring Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg is laced with smaller family-friendly accents and themed shops. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2021.
