One of several exhibits evoking the city's history at the Memphis Cotton Museum in Memphis, Tennessee's, Memphis Cotton Exchange Building, completed as the exchange's third headquarters in 1925, during what was, and continued to be, the Misssissippi River port city's pivotal role during the southern U.S. city's cotton-raising and trading heyday. The building's trading floor was remodeled to showcase the cotton industry that built a robust economy for the city. This is a bottle-cap-encrusted guitar, built by Gregory "Mr. Imagination" Warmack, saluting Memphis's rich musical tradition. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2006.
