Extremely tame pelicans have the run of the dock in Destin,
Florida, a popular beach community in the “Panhandle” portion of the state above the Gulf of Mexico. They are plentiful in marinas in the wintertime off-season, when fish are less plentiful in offshore waters, and less visible in the touristy summertime when fish abound.
