The James D. Westcott Memorial Building, the signature administrative building at Florida State University in Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, located in the “Panhandle” portion of the state above the Gulf of Mexico. Constructed in 1910 as the administration building for the Florida State College of Women, the building was renamed in 1936 in honor of Westcott, a Florida jurist who bequeathed his entire estate to the college in 1887.
