The 1936-vintage Kensinger service station, still operating in Grand Island, Nebraska, as of 2021, serves primarily trucks from nearby UPS and U-Haul locations and other trucking operations along U.S. 30 — the old Lincoln Highway. The white-stucco building has changed little over the years. It's still full service, meaning the owner or a staffer will come out and pump the gas, clean the front window, and more if asked. The coffee is free, and one can buy soda (called "pop" hereabouts), candy, and snacks inside. Photo by Carol Highsmith, 2021.
